Jake DiMera’s (Brandon Barash) may death come as a shock to everyone in Salem, including the DiMera clan, but that doesn’t mean the in-fighting will stop. After all, these are the DiMeras and you can consider them a less comedic and much more lethal version of the Quartermaines on General Hosptial when it comes to the family business.

EJ DiMera (Daniel Feuerriegel), fresh off a showdown with Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney), an affair with Bell Black Brady (Martha Madison), and the realization that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) sent him to jail, decides to take advantage of his brother’s death. Now is his chance if he wants to take over DiMera once again and do what he wants with it. Of course, he also has Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) and a newly-freed Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) to deal with and it won’t be pretty.

Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) has spent way too long torn between Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman), two people she truly loves while knowing she can only be romantically involved with one. They have both been vying for her and after getting advice from her mom, Paulina Price Carver (Jackee Harry), she finally knows what she has to do.

After giving Chanel her best advice, Paulina moves on to Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow). Kate is now all alone again after she lost Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) due to her lies by omission. Paulina knows a thing or two about that since she lost Abe Carver (James Reynolds) the same way, but she was patient and eventually, Abe came around.
