Royal Family News: Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Admit They Lied, No Backyard Wedding

HARRY AND MAGHANBritish royal family news reveals that the bizarre claim by Meghan Markle, Duchess Of Sussex that she married Prince Harry in the backyard three days before the “real” royal wedding was widely mocked and successfully debunked by various outlets.

Now the couple are trying to do damage control over the white lie but their clarification leaves a lot to be desired.

Royal Family News – The Markle’s Now Admit That They Did Not Marry in Secret

According to The Daily Beast, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, or one of their paid mouthpieces, “have finally admitted that they were not married three days before their official ceremony, as they had claimed in their interview with Oprah Winfrey.”

“A spokesperson for the couple conceded Monday that the couple exchanged personal vows a few days before their official/legal wedding on May 19.” Ok so that is a rather weak statement full of double talk and far from an apology for misleading Oprah and the world, but at least a “concession” is better than no acknowledgement of wrong at all.

In other words, Meghan’s claim is false, their little, “backyard exchange of personal vows does not constitute marriage.”

The very late acknowledgement follows a formal debunking of the myth by the UK clergy involved in the so-called ceremony.

Why did this even become a thing? Meghan told Oprah during the couple’s blame game interview that she and Harry tied the knot “in our backyard” three days before their $50 million wedding, paid for by the public, on May 19, 2018.

Meghan said, “You know, three days before our wedding, we got married. No one knows that. The vows that we have framed in our room are just the two of us in our backyard with the Archbishop of Canterbury.”

The claim was immediately disputed because in the U.K. a minimum of two witnesses are needed for a legal marriage to occur.

The Meghan Defender Squad refused to admit the verbal faux pas and instead said things like pointing out her various “discrepancies” in the interview was, “a deliberate strategy by Meghan’s detractors to undermine her wider credibility.”

Royal Family News – What is the Truth About The Markle’s?

But the belated admission to The Daily Beast comes only after the marriage certificate document was obtained by the British newspaper The Sun which confirms that the couple were married on May 19, 2018, at Windsor Castle.

Stephen Borton, former chief clerk at the Faculty Office, told the Sun, “I’m sorry, but Meghan is obviously confused and clearly misinformed. They did not marry three days earlier in front of the Archbishop of Canterbury.”
