“I don’t know, that’s the honest answer. The tour runs at the moment until the end of October. My daughter’s then getting married in America so then I’m off there to do that,” he said.

“There’s a possibility and I really hope it does happen that the tour carries on into the early part of next year to pick up the dates that we had to postpone because of the lockdown,” the actor hoped.

“So, if the tour carries on, I’m not going to be back in EastEnders until some time in 2022 at the earliest,” he estimated.

Ian Beale Leaves Walford

Fans may recall that Woodyatt exited the soap earlier this year when his character left Walford after discovering that his friend, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) was trying to kill him. Back in January, viewers witnessed the confrontation between the two.

Ian asked Sharon if she tried to kill him, which she denied at first. He demanded to know the truth and eventually, Sharon blurted that it was all because he killed Dennis Mitchell (Bleu Landau).

Ian confessed that he locked Denny in the coatroom of the boat that sank. But he made it clear that he tried to save him. He apologized to Sharon and ate the food, which Sharon poisoned. The latter can’t bear to watch her friend die so she helped him throw up the poisoned food. Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) learned what happened, and then went over to the Vic, Ian was nowhere to be found.

Plus he also gets to travel across the country in his motorhome.
