Why Prince Harry’s Netflix Deal Could Become Another Frogmore Cottage Debacle

Prince HarryJust like that, it seems that Frog Harry has regained his Prince title for what one royal watcher calls, “behaving like a grown-up.” But is it much ado about nothing?

Harry’s latest headline grab is for paying off his debt. How noble is that, doing what one should? Maybe it’s just that with Harry, experience has led the public to set the bar low?

Harry Has Reportedly Paid Back The Public Money On The U.K. Home He Ditched

The debt in question is the $3.2 million dollars a then doting public paid to renovate Frogmore Cottage so that Harry and the missus had a suitable place to live. As if the royal palaces were beneath him. Instead of living in his new digs, which he and Meghan claimed were not to their liking, they up and relocated an ocean away.

Imagine if you were the one who gave such an extravagant wedding gift to someone who responded with the kind of rude snub that Harry and Meghan did. You would be ticking off the days till the debt was paid, too.

So, to commend Harry for being a responsible grown-up by paying off what he owes is ludicrous.

In addition, royal watchers are taking great pains to announce that Harry is no longer living off of his dad’s charity. I would hope not, he is pushing forty, with a wife and kid, and we should now congratulate the man-child for finally supporting himself and his family? Double ludicrous.

The news that the pair may and that is an awfully big if, finally be financially independent is due to the fact that they signed a multimillion-dollar deal with Netflix last week. Let’s not forget they have yet to produce anything, let alone anything of value, and to date, all of their hot air about new ventures and saving the world has amounted to nothing. Zero, zed, nada.

And yet some are falling over themselves to say that these two achievements, paying off one’s debts, and landing a job, are miraculous signs of maturity. What is next, Harry parts the waters of the Pacific Ocean?

Royal watcher Penny Junor told Newsweek, “I think this is a very good outcome. I think it’s the right thing for them to have done. They’re grown-up people who shouldn’t really be living off their father still. I think it will earn them some brownie points.”

At this stage of the game, they should be less concerned about brownie points and more concerned about living up to the obligation of being given another extravagant gift without doing anything to earn it. The people who gave them their Netflix deal are in the same boat as the people who gave them their Frogmore Cottage deal. For everyone’s sake, let’s hope Harry and Meghan really have learned a lesson.
