BBC Eastenders aired the final episode before its hiatus and it was previously speculated it would be months before a new installment is broadcast. One of the actors of the soap shared a photo of the first script. However, it also included a transmission date, which indicates when the series could return to our television screens.
Eastenders Spoilers – Goes Off The Air
For the first time in 35 years, the soap will go off the air due to the coronavirus pandemic. The last episode prior to the hiatus aired on Tuesday, June 16. It let us know what was going to happen with the sale of The Vic. It seems that Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) finally had enough of Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden). The look on Sharon’s face was priceless and let everyone know that she was done playing games.
EastEnders Spoilers – Vintage Episodes and Eastenders Spin-Off
Even though Eastenders will go off the air, we won’t be complete without our favorite characters. BBC One will air special installments, which include vintage episodes. There will also be the spin-off, titled Secrets From The Square. Hosted by Stacey Dooley, we will watch two cast members chatting about their time on the soap while sitting at Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) cafe.
EastEnders Spoilers – When Will Eastenders Return?
According to Walford Web, actor Dayle Hudson (Peter Beale) shared his first post-hiatus script on Instagram. It has since been removed, but not before a fan site took screenshots. On the script, there is one telling tidbit that was shown — a transmission date of Tuesday, September 8. The site teased,
“From Dayle Hudson’s Instagram – a script with transmission date of Tuesday 8th September visible! Could #EastEnders be returning to screens on Monday 7th September?”
Eastenders Spoilers – A Long Wait, But Lots Of Time To Speculate
Even though this means that we will be without new episodes of the soap throughout the summer, it gives us plenty of time to speculate. Ian ended up buying The Vic for Sharon, which put a damper on Phil’s plans. As fans recall, he was pretty cruel to Sharon when she decided that it is impossible to turn her back on her baby boy.
Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) was disgusted by how Phil treated Sharon and tried to prevent him from getting the pub. Then, Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) asked Sharon to talk some sense into Linda because her sobriety has to come first. As we previously speculated, there would be a twist to this story.

There are other storylines hanging in the balance as well. Two of these include Dotty Cotton (Millie Zero) and Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) trying to face off against Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal). There is also Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) collapsing and a possible love triangle for someone else.
