Yet, Adam has clearly been humbled. Many residents in Genoa City, Wisconsin, have taken notice of the change in this infamous man, even including his brother.

The watershed moment that happened on New Year’s Eve saw the mutually agreed upon end of ‘Chick’ and the revival of ‘Chadam’. Rather than a ploy, or strategy, Adam really has been living a better life. As he said, the “reality check” has adjusted what was a harsh, me-first persona.

Adam was speaking with a doctor on the phone. Chelsea overheard him setting up an appointment for their son, Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), after receiving a referral from Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).

Thankfully Adam and Chelsea have decided to employ a true health care professional. Sharon’s help was useful and welcomed. But she never felt comfortable in serving as Connor’s sole health care provider, as she’s not a doctor and isn’t yet licensed in the psychology field.

While Connor seems to have made progress within the last few weeks and is happy that his parents are back together, this young man needs a professional evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.

Chelsea and Adam have cared about each other for many years. Longtime viewers know that Michael Muhney (Adam) was portraying this character, during his celebrated run (2009-2014) on Y&R, when their love story began.

Riley Newman (Malachi Barton) was the first son ‘Chadam’ had. He was accidentally killed by Summer Newman (Hunter King) in a car accident before Chelsea gave birth. Barton appeared in a dream sequence that imagined the type of life Chelsea, Adam, and Connor are now trying to reestablish.

But Adam and Chelsea’s renewal goes beyond Connor. They’ve arrived at a new space in their lives and want to do more than continue where it left off in September 2016.

Adam hasn’t been interested in seeking revenge against his father, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), for many months. The shift in demeanor is real, following the presumed death of the ‘Moustache’ and the revealed death hoax.

Chelsea has gone through so much since last spring, when she first learned that Adam never died. Losing Calvin Boudreau (John Burke) sent her back to Nick, which proved to be a touchstone step back to her true love, Adam.

Just as the calendar has turned, so to will ‘Chadam’s’ pursuits. Y&R is priming the pump on fresh storylines for one of its top 2010’s couples that will play out in the decade that has just begun.
