The Bold And The Beautiful News Update: BLM And COVID Both Influenced Stories, EP Confirms

The Bold And The BeautifulCBS The Bold and the Beautiful is back in production. During the hiatus, the writers stayed busy creating new storylines and fine-tuning existing ones. Head writer and executive producer Bradley Bell confirm that both the Black Lives Matter movement and COVID-19 pandemic influenced the scripts, and we will see how in future episodes.

The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Bradley Bell On Quarantine Writing

While there wasn’t much the B&B actors could do as far as work during the lockdown, it was different for the writers. They spent quarantine writing their hearts out. In fact, Bell told Soap Central that he has a stack of 50 scripts at least in front of him ready to produce. However, expect things to be a bit different in regards to the writing.

Influenced By Black Lives Matter Movement

As we previously speculated, the Black Lives Matter movement would influence future storylines. We are not exactly sure how, but it could have something to do with Steffy Forrester’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) new romance. Bell confirmed to the publication that BLM definitely impacted the scripts and we will see how on-screen shortly.

B&B Spoilers – Coronavirus Pandemic Impacted Stories

In addition to BLM, viewers will also see how COVID-19 influenced storylines. Previously, Bell stated that fans needed a break from the pandemic. So, it’s possible that it will not be a direct reference, but perhaps it affects the storylines in other ways.

“Both Black Lives Matter and the coronavirus have had a strong impact on how we’re thinking and how we’re moving forward. Soaps have always been a reflection of the times, so we’re diving into some stories that will hopefully reflect how our society is evolving and continues to evolve and mature and improve with these life situations that present themselves to us.”

Refined Storylines

The writers didn’t just spend time writing as fast as they could. They also had the time to look at character development. Additionally, expect the storylines to be a bit more refined because they had the time to do so.
