Prince Harry Having Second Thoughts About Megxit? Anxious About Queen And Prince Charles And Coronavirus

Is Prince Harry already having second thoughts about Megxit, his stunning and radical departure from the UK and the royal family? According to reports, a source close to his wife Meghan Markle reveals that the man formerly known as Prince is having pangs of conscience regarding the health and welfare of his elderly relatives in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Daily Mail, a source close to Meghan has divulged that Harry is worried about the fate of his elderly grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, and his father Prince Charles. At age 93 and 71 respectively, they both are in the age bracket that is considered very vulnerable to the virus which is causing what amounts to a global lockdown.

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles approach the pandemic differently

In fact the Queen, the world’s oldest monarch and one of the longest-reigning royals in history, has been advised to self-isolate as a precaution but thus far has resisted the directive although she has made concessions. Earlier it was announced that she would leave the hustle and bustle of Buckingham Palace for the closer confines of Windsor Castle, and later it was announced that she will move her departure date up, effectively abandoning the city this week. She is scheduled to remain there beyond Easter. Prince Charles, perhaps proving that he is a man of the people, is still shaking hands with the public.

According to the inside source, Harry has had contact with his grandmother and father, urging them to be safe. According to the source, Meghan stated that she and Harry are “grateful,” that they spent time with the family prior to the latest developments.

Harry feels “helpless” so far away from the UK

Going on, the source stated that according to Meghan, Harry is feeling helpless and left out while they live their independent lives in Canada. By the way, has it been decided who gets to foot the bill for their protection?

Harry’s fears are well founded as the virus has proven to be an equal opportunity parasite, with Austrian royal Karl von Habsburg, the Archduke of Austria, now in quarantine after testing positive for the virus according to People.

Recently it was reported that Harry and Meghan planned to take their son Archie to visit his
grandmother this summer. Are those plans now in jeopardy due to the restrictions in place to royals and non-royals alike regarding travel?

It remains to be seen how the world continues to respond to this unfolding deadly situation. For now though, it’s heartening to know that Harry is responding with concern about the family he left behind.
