General Hospital spoilers tease that in Port Charles, NY Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) is fed up with her mother Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) tactics. She will make a new plan to deal with her mother in an upcoming episode of GH!

General Hospital Spoilers – Alexis Davis Continues To Drink, She Doesn’t Care About Herself

General Hospital viewers will recall that Sam already tried an intervention to help her mother back onto the wagon. Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy), Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), and Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos) were waiting in Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Sam’s penthouse for her. Alexis did not appreciate being bait and switched – Sam had told her she would let her visit her grandchildren, Danny Morgan (Porter Fasullo) and Scout Cain (Ella Ramacieri).

When she got there, it was not the case and she was having none of it. She started to turn around and leave, and then Sam got the call about the explosion at the Floating Rib! She had to leave, and Valentin stayed with Alexis and was able to distract her from further drinking with a game.

They all tried to convince Alexis that they love her and care for her, but as long as Alexis loves her liquor more than she loves and cares for herself, nothing is likely to work. Perhaps Sam is thinking it’s time for something a lot more drastic than just a standard intervention! In the past, she had threatened to totally cut off Alexis and estrange herself from her. Maybe now it’s time!

GH Spoilers – Sometimes Threats Have To Be Carried Out Until The Bitter End

When a person is so engrossed in their addiction, there is usually something driving it. Sam cannot get through to Alexis and even though she seems to be getting closer to Valentin, he couldn’t either. He could only distract her temporarily, although she didn’t drink but maybe a sip out of the glass that was on the table where they played their game.

Perhaps it is time for Alexis to seek psychiatric help again – or be forced to! Alexis had been talking to Dr. Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) about one of her issues a couple of years back – she was exploring why she was drawn to bad men. Underlying emotional or sometimes mental issues are a factor in why someone becomes an addict, whether it be to drugs, alcohol, or risky behaviors.

That process of course was interrupted when at the time, unbeknownst to anyone else, Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) had switched places with his brother and “fired” Alexis as his patient. Then Alexis started seeing Dr. Neil Byrne (Joe Flanigan) as a patient, but that process was stopped when they started becoming romantically involved! Sam needs to make some tough decisions this week, and one of them might be forcing her mother into treatment!
