Days of Our Lives News Update: Why Kristian Alfonso Walked Out, Hope’s Exit Not Filmed

NBC Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that throughout the 37 years Kristian Alfonso has been playing Hope Brady, many rumors circulated about her leaving. None of them were true so when the actress really did walk away, fans had a hard time believing it. Alfonso talked about the exact moment she walked away. In fact, Hope’s exit was never filmed, but she has no regrets.

DOOL spoilers reveal that Alfonso told Matt Cohen of Entertainment Tonight that executive producer Ken Corday told her there Hope was going away for several months. She would come back and have a storyline involving a Navy Seal.

“It was not something that had ever been discussed but that’s what it was, and to come back in five to six months, or four to five months — whatever that time frame was — I just thought, you know what, it’s time to really write a new chapter.”

Enough episodes have been filmed of Hope that she will remain on-screen until October 2020. Alfonso felt she owed it to viewers to announce her exit as soon as she made the decision. She always tries to be honest with her fans, especially since Hope will suddenly disappear.

“I still have scripts that were supposed to be shot. Of course, everything is being probably rewritten because of COVID… But that was not supposed to be the end.”

Corday told Alfonso that Hope would not be recast. As for a possible return or guest appearance, Alfonso has no intention of looking back.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that during quarantine, Alfonso had the time to really think about her life, health, and quality of life, which also contributed to her decision. The actress said,

“… it’s the first time in my life I was actually able to exhale because I’ve been so busy with my life and really enjoyed just being home and really doing nothing. Maybe cooking. But just enjoying my family, my friends. Catching up. I don’t know if you realize or not, but I used to have a jewelry line also on top of working on Days Our Lives and I miss it.”

Alfonso doesn’t know if she will work in the industry again but admits she’s getting calls. She feels grateful to have been on the soap for so many years but has no regrets about leaving.
