The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Victoria Declares War On Her Dad– Can She Win Against Victor?

Victor Newman's (Eric Braeden)

Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) timing isn’t ideal on The Young and the Restless. In fact, it’s downright misguided.

Feeling healthy enough to return to the soapy salt mines, Victor’s announcement that he’s retaking the helm creates his daughter’s demotion.

Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) had to know that as long as her father was alive and since he didn’t actually die, the ‘Moustache’ would come back. So, her return to the Chief Executive Officer’s role shouldn’t have resulted in an Adam Newman-like (Mark Grossman) temper tantrum, complete with a dagger thrown at the iconic oil painting of the man himself inside what was her office.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Newman Drama Restored And All Is Right

With the whipping boy, Adam, no longer around for people to berate, Newman drama had to be written in from somewhere. So, why not have the original bad boy, Victor, create chaos?

Y&R’s staple, since the early 1980s, when Braeden first graced the daytime screen, has seen the then developing Newman family involved in never-ending dissension. Oh, there have been periods of peace. A more accurate description would classify those times as days, or even moments.

One of this soap’s hallmarks is having a Newman battling someone, who is often another Newman family member. So Victor’s choice and Vickie’s reaction makes sense within that well-known pattern.

Y&R Spoilers – Victor Newman Should Head Company

Vicki should understand that her father needs to keep his focus on business as part of his hopeful victory over the rare blood disease. Her childish reaction, which evokes the many Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) outbursts, made Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) reaction seem what it was, fully mature.

As fans saw, Abby was the one family member to openly express her support of Victor’s family get-together at the Ranch as it was happening. Vickie and Nick defaulted to familiar territory, in thinking about themselves.

Abby, who’s still cast as not having what it takes to head the family company continues to demonstrate, via Society, The Grand Phoenix, and the reaction mentioned, that she’s, arguably, the most consistent of the bunch. Abby hasn’t and doesn’t oppose her father’s heading Newman because she recognizes and accepts it as right, while also knowing that it’s best to pursue her own business interests and therefore, life.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Running The Family Business

So, she was arrested. As Victor said, Vicki was cleared and most importantly, shouldn’t care what the public thinks about what’s happened. However, he also realizes that Newman Enterprises needs to make money, which sustains its employees’ careers and creates a return for shareholders.

The Newman’s are often run like a business, which is Victor’s mistake. But if Vicki can’t handle her father’s fixed personality then that would seem to support the feeling that she can’t head the family business either. However, as the dagger in Victor’s portrait shows, she vehemently disagrees, yet again).
