The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Friday, December 20: tease that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will struggle to get Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) off his mind. At home, Kyle finishes decorating his Christmas tree with Lola. He enjoys some of the cookies Lola made, but she questions why he keeps griping about Theo. Kyle acknowledges Theo takes much too much real estate in his head.

At Society, Summer Newman (Hunter King) shrugs off Theo’s complaints about Kyle’s sabotage. Theo thinks it’s because Summer still wants Kyle, but she just doesn’t believe Kyle would hurt his family’s company. After Theo mentions smart women falling for Kyle, Summer determines that Theo wants Lola. She finds it sad that Theo is longing for Kyle’s whole life and shuts down the idea that he’ll ever be with Lola. Summer feels like Theo needs to focus on his job instead.

Later, Lola looks at a text Theo sent of himself eating at Society. She gazes up at Kyle and puts the phone back down. Meanwhile, Theo waits for Lola to reply while Summer watches in the distance. Over with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), he gets a visit from Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) at home. After discussing Billy’s new job, talk turns to Christmas. Jack mentions that he’s been worrying about Billy lately. He asks about Billy’s therapy, so Billy admits his usual therapist had to leave town. Jack’s glad when Billy insists he’s still been talking to somebody. Once Jack heads out, Billy contemplates how he’s really doing and doesn’t think Jack would want to know.

At the Grand Phoenix, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is wrapping presents in the lobby when Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) appears. Nick thinks they could all spend some time together for the holiday, but he wants the drama left at the door. Phyllis decides she’s in and is laughing with Nick when Chelsea shows up. Phyllis takes off, which leaves Chelsea to make Christmas plans with Nick as well. She thinks Adam should be invited and points out Nick invited Phyllis. Nick counters that Phyllis didn’t try to kill his father, but he relents on the Adam invitation. He just wants to spend Christmas with Chelsea and make sure the boys enjoy some time together.

Back at Crimson Lights, Phyllis finds Billy and fills him in on getting fired from the hotel. Billy’s impressed that Phyllis drives the train of her own life. She feels like Billy might be a bit envious and wonders if he’s OK. Billy updates Phyllis on his consulting gig, which she feels it’s beneath him. When Billy grows frustrated over someone else criticizing him, Phyllis backs down. She says “you do you,” but Billy thinks to himself about not knowing who the real Billy is.

Phyllis notices Chance as Paul leaves, so she moseys over to ask what their tête-à-tête was about. She brings up Vegas again, but Chance wants her to mind her own business. As Chance exits, Phyllis makes it clear that she’s not giving up. She’s never one to back down from a challenge!
