They might be the best of friends, but it looks like Meghan Markle might want to steer clear from any tennis stadiums the next time her best friend Serena Williams is playing in a match. That’s because there are a lot of critics out there that believe that she might be the tennis player’s bad luck charm as each and every time she’s seen her play in the US Open, Serena has lost. Is Meghan Markle A Bad Luck Charm?

Many fans were surprised to see the Duchess of Sussex sitting court side at the Arthur Ashe stadium in New York this past week. Meghan Markle made the trip – flying in a commercial plan, no less – to help cheer on her good friend who was playing in the finals against Canadian Bianca Andreeschu. Meghan left her husband Prince Harry and their four-month-old tot Archie Harrison behind for the quick jaunt across the pond. Before the match, Meghan was spotted at a public hot yoga session in the Big Apple. She apparently had no problems blending in with the crowd.

It’s been noted that this isn’t the first time that Meghan has been present to see her friend lose rather than win. Meghan was also at the US Open finals back in 2018 when Serena lost to Angelique Kerber. She was also in the stands when Serena lost to Simona Halep.

But then again Meghan Markle might not have been the sole reason that Serena Williams lost the match. After all, her husband Alexis Ohanian along with American Vogue editor Anna Wintour were also in the crowd cheering Serena on. It might not have been enough for the tennis legend, as Bianca went on to win 6-3, 7-5.

All Of Meghan’s Travels This Year

The Daily Mail reports that Meghan flew commercial on a last minute First Class return ticket from London to New York. The trip reportedly cost about $7,000. While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have time to go on trips like this one to New York City or their previous trips to Ibiza and the South of France last month they couldn’t find the time in their busy travel schedule to visit the Queen. There are reports that say Queen Elizabeth is feeling rather hurt that the Sussexes failed to visit her at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. Earlier reports indicated the trip was initially part of their summer plans. So far Harry and Meghan have not made any comments.
