General Hospital Spoilers: Obrecht Gets An Enlightening Phone Call — Does She Find Nina’s Real Daughter?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) will get an enlightening phone call soon. Liesl is a woman who knows many secrets, so just what could this call be about? What could she be receiving a call about that she doesn’t already know, and would be enlightening for her? Recent events in Liesl’s life and that of her family members could provide General Hospital viewers with some clues.

GH Spoilers – Sasha Gilmore’s Secret Was Recently Exposed

Sasha Gilmore’s (Sofia Mattsson) secret was recently exposed. This is a secret that Liesl kept also when she saw how close her niece Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) was getting to Sasha. Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) had good motivations to try and find Nina’s long-lost daughter but when the trail went cold, he had to get creative and hired Sasha to play the part.

Neither he nor Sasha banked on Nina getting so attached to Sasha, and Sasha to Nina when this all started. Yes, Valentin thought if he could give Nina the thing she wanted the most, her own child, even if it were a grown one that he could gain her trust and love back, so that could be considered an ulterior motive, but it really isn’t one that could be considered evil; everyone wants to be loved and to have someone to love!

General Hospital Spoilers – The Way The Secret Was Exposed And Where And When It Was Exposed Just Wasn’t Right!

The way the secret was exposed and where and when it was exposed just wasn’t right! Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) had been in the ladies’ room at the Floating Rib while Liesl and Sasha, as all women do, held their little private meeting in the ladies’ room where Sasha was having a hard time holding her secret in because of her guilt in deceiving Nina, who loved her so, so much. Liesl warned her that Nina could never know that Sasha was an imposter, which of course set Lulu off on a self-righteous crusade to warn Nina that Sasha was an imposter hired by Valentin!

She chose the part of their wedding where the minister says “If anyone should have any objection to this couple being joined in Holy Matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace” to voice her objections and tell Nina that Sasha was a fraud! Valentin probably wished he was holding his PIECE, meaning GUN in mobster-speak at that point! Nina tried to shut her down, and then finally told Sasha to clear it up by telling that she is her daughter, and Sasha couldn’t bring herself to lie again and Nina saw it in Sasha’s eyes that Lulu was telling the truth!

GH Spoilers – Could Liesl Obrecht Have Wanted To Fix Things For Her Niece?

Liesl had told Valentin in a recent episode that there wasn’t a daughter, contrary to what Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills) had told Valentin under duress shortly before she died in prison. Valentin hired Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) to follow the money and paper trail of the baby broker and as far as Curtis knew, he’d found Nina’s daughter when he found Sasha.

Valentin could have tried to follow it himself before hiring Curtis and Sasha, and ran into a dead-end and felt he had no choice but to hire a fake daughter for Nina, wanting to mend her broken heart. General Hospital viewers should recall that before Valentin was a mercenary, he was in WSB spy school with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) so he knows how to investigate and sleuth things out. He also worked with the DVX when he worked with Cesar Faison (Anders Hove). Could Liesl have wanted to try to fix things for Nina by doing her own search? Is the enlightening phone call about the results of her search?

Viewers will also recall that even Liesl noted the uncanny resemblance between Sasha and her own daughter, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thibaud) in recent episodes, and also that Liesl and Madeline never got along. When Liesl told Valentin there was no daughter that is probably what Madeline told her, and Madeline may have lied. Did Aunt Liesl find what Valentin couldn’t? Is the call about Nina’s real daughter?

General Hospital writers could even put a twist in the story by having Liesl find out that Sasha really is Nina’s real daughter, after all! That would fix things for Sasha, Nina and Valentin, and even Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) who has stuck with and supported Sasha when she originally confessed all to him!
