Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Major Character Set To Return - Is It Stephen Nichols?Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that a blind item in the current edition of Soap Opera Digest could refer to the return of Steve “Patch” Johnson (Stephen Nichols) to the town of Salem!

In a recent tweet, dated January 24th, Nichols shared a picture of him with Drake Hogestyn, both wearing patches, which appeared to be taken in a production studio. There have been mentions of Patch off screen on the show frequently, and Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Johnson) has even tweeted Nichols that she wanted him back on the show!

This blind item certainly could fit the return of Nichols to DAYS. He’s definitely a high profile character, and the storyline supports his return, since he’s been found innocent of the frame-up by Stefan DiMera (Tyler Christopher) and been exonerated and released from federal prison.

Stefan may have bullied or blackmailed a subordinate to confess and take the fall, but if Patch shows up in Salem, Days of Our Lives viewers can bet he will be trying to get the appropriate person punished!

Perhaps this tweet is a confirmation or at least a hint that Patch and Kayla will soon be reunited and “Black Patch”, the private investigation service that he and John Black (Drake Hogestyn) were partners in will be back in business. Even though there has been no official word from Stephen Nichols himself or the show, all the well wishes and requests from fans shown in the tweet show how much he’s wanted back.

Days of Our Lives Fans Want Patch Back!

Sometimes fan based petitions do help actors get back on shows; it worked in the past for General Hospital actors Rebecca Herbst and Michael Easton. Days of Our Lives fans will definitely be happy to see Patch back on their screens if this blind item does indeed refer to Stephen Nichols and his tweet is a hint of things to come!
