Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Jack Wins The Election – Fires Hope And Appoints New Police Commissioner

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that the mayoral election will really shake things up in Salem. The race has certainly been a contentious one, with Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) playing dirty tricks and running a smear campaign against his opponent, Abe Carver (James Reynolds).

But soon the voters of Salem will cast their votes and there will be a surprising result. According to Days of Our Lives spoilers, Jack will prevail in the election, leaving Abe without a job. Jack will be thrilled with his victory and he and wife Eve Deveraux (Kassie DePaiva) will surely celebrate big.

Of course, Jack will bring a whole new regime to Salem, and it looks like he’ll jump right into the job by making a major decision that will affect several people’s lives. DOOL viewers know that Hope Hernandez (Kristian Alfonso) has been police commissioner for a while now, but things haven’t gone so well under her administration.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Kristen DiMera Fled Town

We can think of several police debacles that have occurred under Hope’s watch. For one, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) infiltrated Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) wedding wielding a gun and then fled town when one would think the police would have been able to apprehend her.

And then, Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) got off scot-free when the Salem PD failed to secure the videotaped evidence proving he was the shooter. Sure, Sheila Watkins (Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins) was at fault for that, too, but the police ultimately had the responsibility of securing the evidence.

And more recently, Hope was in charge when Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) went rogue and chased down the vehicle carrying Holly Jonas (Harlow and Scarlett Mallory). As DOOL viewers know, that vehicle crashed and Holly is now presumed dead as a result. None of this looks good for Hope’s command.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Ted Laurent Will Exit In Protest

In the face of all of these incidents, Jack is going to decide that Salem’s had enough of Hope’s reign as commissioner. Days of Our Lives spoilers say that his first order of business as the new mayor will be to fire Hope. Whether Hope gets to remain on the police force as a detective remains to be seen, but she could end up being totally out of a job.

Days of Our Lives spoilers also say that Ted Laurent (Gilles Marini) will exit his position, too, but it looks like he’ll voluntarily quit in protest once Hope gets fired. So, Salem is soon going to have a new police commissioner and a new district attorney, so this really will be a shake-up.

Of course, Jack will have to make a big decision about who to select as the new police commissioner and district attorney. We can’t help but wonder whether he’ll consider Abe as police commissioner, since Abe held that position back in the day. Who do you think Jack will choose?
