Bold And The Beautiful Bradley Bell Reminisces On 32 Years – Teases Exciting Storylines To Come

Bold And The Beautiful News: Bradley Bell“Bold and the Beautiful (B&B)” Executive Producer and Head Writer Bradley Bell remembers how the daytime soap started 32 years ago and teased about exciting things ahead.

The spinoff of “The Young and the Restless” premiered on March 23, 1987. Bell remembers how he and his father came up with the idea for B&B when CBS asked William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell to create a show that would replace “Capitol.”

“We sat down with blank paper—my dad was such a brilliant writer— and we went through ideas and came up with the concept,” Bell said in an interview with Parade.com.

Bold And The Beautiful News – Show Tackled The Issue Of Homelessness

B&B is set in Los Angeles, California, focusing on the Forrester family and their fashion house Forrester Creations. It’s about the ultra-wealthy families and their relationships, and how they are able to go through a crisis. The show has also tackled social issues. And Bell revealed that they plan to keep them as key elements in their storylines.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” tackled homelessness a couple of times, and one of the most memorable storylines involved the character Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery). Through Stephanie, people were able to see that “homelessness can happen to anyone. You can choose to live your whole life turning a blind eye to it, which Stephanie did until her life became fulfilled when she was reaching out to people in need,” Bell said.

Bell teased that they are working on tackling another social issue. “I can’t get into it, but for 2019, we’re doing some research and that’s something I look forward to penning this year,” he said.

Bold And The Beautiful News – Much More Drama On The Way

“The Bold and the Beautiful” has seen great success over the years, and it has become one of the most watched daytime soap operas in the world, airing in more than 100 countries. Bell attributes the show’s success to its continuity and keeping one vision throughout the years, that is to stay true to dramatic conventions.

“But more than anything we try to have a product that touches the audience, emotionally and positively, that celebrates life and is very life-affirming,” he added.

So what’s ahead for the B&B? Aside from a new social issue storyline, Bell teased more twists and turns in the baby swap storyline. With new cast members Flo Fulton (Katrina Bowden) and Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes), and the addition of Denise Richards as Flo’s mother Shauna Fulton, the secret of Hope Logan’s baby is going to continue.

“I just feel so confident that this story is going to be a real standout for the series,” Bell said. He also teased that Thomas’ (Matthew Atkinson) return comes with a little trouble, and he is going to stir the pot.
