Weekly Soap Opera Ratings September 3 to 7: Great News! GH Y&R DOOL and B&B Make Massive Gains in Viewership! The soap opera ratings have been reported by Soap Opera Network. We did have the Labor Day holiday that preempted NBC’s DOOL and ABC’s GH but both CBS soap operas opted to air new episodes; other than that there were no interruptions that would have interfered with this week’s ratings in any way. Let’s see how all four soaps made out this week!

GENERAL HOSPITAL

ABC’s GH had a major comeback this week with a giant jump of 590,000 in total viewers, finishing the week with 2,319,000 in total viewership. It was a great week all around as the soap opera also gained 85,000 viewers in women ages 18-49. Its definitely a trying week in Port Charles as a devastated Kim (Tamara Braun) shares with Drew (Billy Miller) that Oscar (Garren Stitt) has incurable brain tumor). Brad (Parry Shen) and Lucas (Ryan Carnes) learn they are over the hurdle and officially keeping their adopted son, Wiley. Evil twin, Ryan (Jon Linstrom) manages to swap places with sweet brother, Kevin, ready to cause havoc once again. The hunt for Nina’s (Michelle Stafford) child gets real for Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart), just as Nina realizes her baby really is alive!

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

CBS’ Y&R has a reason to celebrate as the CBS soap opera remains on top gaining 139,000 from the previous week and totaling 4,066,000 in total viewership; it also rose 28,000 viewers among women 18-49 years old. Jack (Peter Bergman) picks up where he left up in his search for her biological father. Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) turns back to her old self in attempts to prove to Summer (Hunter King) that she will not be disrespected nor messed with! Lily’s (Christel Khalil) trial happens and Devon (Bryton James) is determined for Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and their unborn baby to get justice. Tessa’s (Cait Fairbanks) return leaves several people suspicious. Billy (Jason Thompson) admits he’s back to gambling as Sharon (Sharon Case) warns Nick (Joshua Morrow) about Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) being in town and he’s there about JT (Thad Hellstrom)!

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

CBS’ B&B rose 16,000 in total viewership remaining in second with 3,270,000 total viewers. Unfortunately, the CBS daytime drama lost 3,000 viewers among women 18-49 years of age. Hope (Annika Noelle) goes through another pregnancy scare, which bonds her and Steffy (Jacqueline Mac
Innes Wood) – briefly! Thorne (Ingo Rademacher) and Katie (Heather Tom) continue to bond stronger as a couple and he backs her completely as she stands up against Bill (Don Diamont); even deciding to take him for full custody of their son Will. Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) plays dirty, informing the company execs that he has to choose between Steffy and Hope’s lines at Forrester Creations. As if there is even a question which side he would pick!

DAYS OF OUR LIVES

NBC’s DOOL gained 2,000 in total viewership totaling 2,162,000 in total viewers. The NBC soap opera rose 5,000 among women 18-49 viewers too. Brady (Eric Martsolf) freaks on Will (Chandler Massey) for betraying his brother Paul (Christopher Sean). Steve “Patch” (Stephen Nichols) official leaves Salem as he is charged with espionage and DOOL fans say goodbye to the actor as well. Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) asks newfound brother, Stefan (Tyler Christopher) for help as Gabi (Camila Banus) continues to manipulate Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abby’s (Marci Miller) relationship. Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) life hangs in the balance and her family learns of her DNR. Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) is in for a double shocker as Will reveals he has his memories back and naughty Bonnie (Judi Evans) tells him, they share a little pink bundle of joy.

It’s been a great week all around hasn’t it! Fantastic stories unfolding on all four daytime dramas, no? How do you feel about the stories that happened this week and how would you rate all of the daytime soap operas? Please let us know what you think!
