The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Jack’s Reputation Precedes Him – Innocent, but Arrested

The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Jack's Reputation Precedes Him – Innocent, but ArrestedJack (Peter Bergman) isn’t exactly innocent on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But he didn’t attack Victor (Eric Braeden) at the Ranch, which is why he’s been arrested.

The infamous battle that Jack has waged against Victor and vice versa is known by all residents of Genoa City. Paul (Doug Davidson), the chief of police, is chief among them. A bad pun, but also a bad situation for unsmilin’ Jack.

So, Bergman’s character was steamed at the state of his life. He felt Ashley (Eileen Davidson) had betrayed him and that the ‘Moustache’ took advantage of what happened. As is often the case, Jack didn’t even try to be objective about the role he’d played in forcing his sister out of Jabot, which caused business and personal matters to unravel.

Most recently, Jack admitted to Jill (Jess Walton) that his life went downhill since he began caring for Dina (Marla Adams). Again, he’d decided that other people caused his world to tumble.

The just-returned and recast Kyle (Michael Mealor) surprisingly voted against his father when Ashley called for a Jabot confidence vote a number of months ago. Y&R viewers rightly suspected that Jack’s son would eventually reappear in town, which he now has. Incredibly, as Jack just learned, Kyle has been colluding with Victor for months.

Now, consider the circumstantial evidence that led Paul to officially haul Jack in. Davidson’s character learned that Jack was inebriated on the night in question and that he went to the Ranch after nearly coming to blows with Victor at a recent business meeting. That meeting took place at the same location where Victor was found unconscious.

Sure, Jack called 911 and waited for an ambulance and the authorities to arrive. But, in Paul’s mind, that doesn’t confirm innocence.

Jack’s expected reaction to his arrest is that he’s the wrongly accused victim. He’s totally right. Though Mr. Abbott likely won’t be able to see that his reputation preceded him, which is partially why Paul acted as he did.

Who can blame the chief for his decision? Jack, now and after he’s been cleared. And who will be able to confirm that Jack isn’t guilty? Victor, which makes for a great storyline!
