The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Billy’s Brutal Bash Of Summer and Phyllis Is Detestable

Billy (Jason Thompson) calculated his lure on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Then, after returning from rehabilitation, he impulsively decided to reveal ‘Silly‘ while Summer (Hunter King) and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) were standing aside of each other.

The dramatic three-character seen took place the day after Jack (Peter Bergman) threw a chair through a window while Ashley (Eileen Davidson) looked on in horror. Yes, these Abbott’s are fully out of sorts this fall.

Why would Billy want to intentionally hurt Summer? It was wrong to seek revenge against Phyllis, but understandable within the context of Tognoni’s character having been with Nick (Joshua Morrow), which was outed by Sharon (Sharon Case) at ‘Shick’s’ disastrous remarriage ceremony.

But purposely hurting Summer by stating the truth in front of Phyllis was cruel. Apparently, Billy must claim to be so hurt that the only resolution was to say that two can play that game. However, Phyllis never intended to slash Billy’s heart.

It may be hard for some to evoke sympathy for King’s returned and vastly rewritten character. Yet, as viewers recall, she’s been up front with Billy for months. And he called her last week, which played off her known feelings. Billy initiated what happened between them, leading Summer to think they were heading toward couple status.

‘Silly’ was Summer’s hope, but obviously not Billy’s. What transpired between them, hours before his gambling relapse, led to a week-long check-in at a clinic and could easily have resulted in pregnancy.

This proposed storyline would be explosive, controversial, and multi-layered. Considering each item referenced and others not mentioned, Y&R fans must be wondering why this type of baby story would be rejected by executive producer and head writer Mal Young? Well, devoted viewers should have an answer to this speculative line of thought within a handful of weeks.

Summer becomes a mother to Billy’s child. Phyllis also becomes a grandmom. Double wow, again assuming that this triangular storyline is currently unfolding on Y&R.
