The Young and the Restless (YR) Poll: Will Nick Dump Sharon When the J.T. Secret is Revealed?

Well, Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) have romantically reconciled on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But will ‘Shick’ end when Nick eventually learns the truth about his renewed love interest’s involvement in the J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) event?

The long-awaited ‘Shick’ reunion actually happened in 2014. The couple was actually standing at the altar, in fact. But then the recast edition of Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) blew open the doors to the apparent all-faiths church and stood there in her radiant white dress looking like the opposite of an angel. Summer’s (Hunter King) paternity intel was dropped and Sharon was ditched.

Four years used to be the interval between the linked Summer and Winter Olympic games. Then, the schedule was staggered so that one set of competitions would follow the other every two years. So the Summer Olympics won’t be in Tokyo, Japan, until 2020. We know Juliet (Laur Allen) won’t be there, but will Sharon have ran away to Asia by then?

Yes, the above paragraph was a long way to go. But mental gymnastics take place when a writer decides to force an issue into the script. And such is the same with the extensive lengths Y&R has gone to create a conflict that looms over ‘Shick’s’ heads once more.

Y&R has crafted an interesting, though pained setup this spring. It felt like forever for the Sully-is-Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) arc to play out. Nick was miles away from trusting Sharon when it did. But his help with exposing Scott’s (Daniel Hall) dalliance and Sharon’s passioned efforts in telling Nick that Christian was Adam’s (Justin Hartley) child changed matters.

However, Sharon’s lies about J.T. are mounting and becoming more elaborate. Nick won’t appreciate yet another excuse session whenever it inevitably happens. But Sharon is protecting Vickie (Amelia Heinle) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). Plus, Phyllis is also part of the secret undertaker society. So, it’s possible that all will be forgiven when everything is revealed.
