Soap Opera Weekly Ratings October 1 – 5: DOOL Down – Y&R, B&B and GH Up in Ratings

Soap Opera Weekly Ratings October 1 - 5: DOOL Down - Y&R, B&B and GH Up in RatingsSoap Opera ratings were reported by Soap Opera Network for the week of Monday, October 1 through Friday, October 5, 2018 and it seems there were no interruptions nor pre-emptions this week that would have effected the ratings, so let’s see how all four of the daytime dramas did this week!

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

CBS’ B&B made massive leaps this week, gaining an impressive 133,000 total viewers, totaling 3,335,000 in total viewership. The CBS soap opera also rose 54,000 viewers among women viewers aged 18-49. This was the week when Katie (Heather Tom) and Bill’s (Don Diamont) custody battle ensued. Bill shows his all 3 of his sons that he has a softer side, especially when he shares a tender moment with baby Kelly; but can these fences really be mended?

Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) discovers just how “involved” Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) was in the custody results. One has to wonder where her loyalties will lie. Tiffany (Maile Brady), is Emma’s (Nia Sioux) best friend and she is concerned, she is showing a repeat pattern with her obsessive and jealousy behavior regarding Xander (Adain Bradley).

GENERAL HOSPITAL

ABC’s GH continues to gain viewers, up 93,000 from the previous week with 2,304,000 in total viewers; unfortunately the ABC soap opera did drop 15,000 women viewers 18-49 from the week before. Mike (Max Gail) might be able to save his son, Sonny (Maurice Benard) from the DA’s clutches, at least for now. Fan fave, Genie Francis came back as Laura Collins, but she didn’t get the warm welcome she was expecting from her ever loving husband, Kevin. Nina (Michelle Reeves) finds out her instincts were right; she has a daughter!

Oscar (Garren Nero) shoves everyone away from him, including his sweetheart, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) who refuses to give up on him; completely unaware of his grim health prognosis. JaSam fans should be thrilled that they finally lock lips, but does this mean they are reuniting?

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

CBS’ Y&R remains on the top with total viewers, gaining 70,000 from the previous week and in the number one spot with 4,031,000 in total viewership. The CBS daytime drama rose 4,000 viewers in women aged 18-49. Alyvia Alyn Lind comes to Genoa City for Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon’s (Sharon Case) wedding, but alas her warnings were right, the wedding doesn’t happen, thanks to Mariah. (Camryn Grimes)

Mariah revealing Nick slept, once again with Phyllis (Gina Tognoni); Noah (Robert Adamson arrives just in time to catch all the drama at the church. Ashley (Eileen Davidson) has Billy (Jason Thompson) dethroned from Jabot, exposing all his misdeeds. Someone begins to blackmail the murder club, one by one; claiming they know what the women have done. It was an explosive week on Y&R!

DAYS OF OUR LIVES

NBC’s DOOL fell dramatically in ratings, losing 131,000 in total viewers, sitting in 4th place in total viewership with 2,061,000. The loss wasn’t as severe among women 18-49, as the NBC soap opera only feel 6,000 from the previous week. Ciara (Victoria Konefal) and Tripp (Lucas Adams) give in to passion and deepen their relationship. Sami (Alison Sweeney) discovers the truth about her mother’s situation.

Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) shares his good news with Ciara and Tripp – he’s innocent of the cabin fire; but he’s a little too late as she’s chosen Tripp! Chad’s (Billy Flynn) is devastated by the wig he finds in Abigails’ (Marci Miller) room, just as Abby admits to Stefan (Tyler Christopher) that she is “missing time.” Marlena (Deirdre Hall) realizes Sami isn’t the shooter. Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) admits to Eric (Greg Vaughan) that she knows more than she’s been saying about Nicole (Arianne Zucker). Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) desperately wants Brady (Eric Martsolf) back, but also wants revenge; it remains to be seen, which is more important to her!
