Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) feels confident on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He believed the judge was receptive to his presentation in chambers and let Leslie (Angell Conwell) know it. However, despite whatever legal proceedings may develop, Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) lies are sure to lead to consequences for many connected characters. The same is true for Juliet (Laur Allen).

Viewers don’t actually know all that happened between Cane and Juliet in that hotel suite earlier this year. Yes, flashback scenes were shown that indicated an ill-advised connection took place. But since Cane and Juliet downed sake bombs prior to the event in question, neither person’s memory would be clear on the matter.

Taking Juliet on her initial word, the situation wasn’t forced but consensual. That means Cane didn’t demand anything in return for a job at Brash and Sassy. However, Juliet later allowed herself to be pushed into making a legal claim by Hilary (Mishael Morgan). In order for that to happen Juliet had to lie as well.

So both Cane and Juliet haven’t been truthful about their night in Tokyo. That will make it hard for the legal system to determine who, if anyone, was wrong or was more wronged. Both individual’s reputations and Brash and Sassy’s business standing are sure to take hits because of this developing situation.

Cane has openly lied about his involvement with Juliet, telling everyone a partial recollection of what happened in Japan. Juliet filed a petition knowing that she was never promised anything, but instead voluntarily helped Cane to his hotel room, after which both parties took matters from there.

Juliet felt betrayed when she was fired. Because she was unable to punish Victoria (Amelia Heinle) for what amounted to unjust termination, Juliet turned her wrath on Cane. That makes sense of various levels.

If Mr. Ashby had been truthful all along he’d have much less to worry about. But he didn’t do so and now must await whatever consequences result.
