The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Hilary Doesn’t Care About Charlie and Mattie – Lily Mentions SORAS

Lily (Christel Khalil) rightfully remains guarded whenever Hilary (Mishael Morgan) is around on ‘The Young and the Restless’. While Mrs. Ashby didn’t know her actual intent, Miss Curtis delivered a poisoned memory stick to ‘Lane’s home this week. The digital bombshell contained on the purposely mislabeled USB drive could have easily been accessed by Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) or Mattie (Lexie Stevenson).

Cane (Daniel Goddard) was still trying to digest what Juliet (Laur Allen) told him at Brash and Sassy. He spoke with his frenemy colleague after she summoned him due to a termed “emergency”. The pressured request proved to be legitimate.

Hilary had earlier overheard a conversation Cane and Juliet had about their connection in Japan. She then confronted Juliet about the matter. The fact that ‘Lane’s’ enemy could easily access that office location did beg a plot believability question.

Why is the Jabot building so loosely secured? Seemingly anyone can roam throughout that corporate space unabated, except for the period of time when Billy (Jason Thompson) was closely followed by a security guard at Jack’s (Peter Bergman) request.

‘Chatty Juliet’ has often spoken when she should have remained silent. Volunteering information about Vickie’s (Amelia Heinle) over-drinking was her most recent public faux pas. But admitting to Hilary that she and Cane were together in Tokyo was over-the-top outrageous.

There was absolutely no need for her to take Hilary’s bait. Yet she did and in so doing Juliet placed Cane’s marriage and the future of his family in total jeopardy.

Suspecting ‘Jane’ was one thing. But having Juliet admit that they were involved while secretly recording it represents a power paradigm shift.

Cane and Lily’s children are almost adults, as Khalil’s character noted in her SORAS (soap opera rapid aging syndrome) dialogue wink to the audience. Regardless, Hilary knew that when Juliet’s recorded confession was viewed ‘Lane’ would be in danger of ending. Not that she cared in the least. But that’s how a destructive mind flows.
