The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Cane Pays Jesse – Billy Realizes the Truth

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Cane Pays Jesse – Billy Realizes the Truth

Cane (Daniel Goddard) acted erratically again on ‘The Young and the Restless’. First, he opted to pay Jesse (Max Adler) $25,000 and later confronted the blackmailer. Billy’s (Jason Thompson) realization of the truth will push this storyline to a whole new level now.

Why, why, why would Cane tap his children’s school savings’ account to meet Jesse’s demand? Viewers know that Cane has held a number of good-paying professional positions for many years. So wouldn’t he have his own money in some type of separate account, or even if all Ashby accounts are joint, why did he specifically make a meaty transfer from that specific spot?

It’s a weak plot point. Combined with Cane’s out of character actions in setting Billy up to fail in Los Angeles, viewers are right to want this storyline written to conclusion as soon as possible.

However, Billy’s realization that Cane orchestrated Jesse’s video actions does make sense. Facts weren’t in front of Billy’s face initially. So he pieced bits and pieces of information together and then Jesse’s arrival in Genoa City served as the trigger to a logical conclusion.

It’s acceptable that Billy would happen to see Cane threatening Jesse at Crimson Lights. Some type of script device needed to be used to push this arc toward climax.

Lily (Christel Khalil) was rightfully shocked to learn that the twins’ school account has been drained. With Walnut Grove’s fall session set to resume later this month, it makes sense that Mrs. Ashby would be accessing digital dollars in preparation to make initial tuition payments.

Circling back to Cane, what exactly was his plan? He knew that the twins’ tuition was soon due and that the account in question was going to be utilized to satisfy it.

So viewers are being asked to accept Cane’s many actions and reactions as part of his overall devolution. Some points in these scripts make sense, while others don’t.

Yes, it’s time to arrive at a conclusion and move the Cane character forward. A good starting point would be his immediate pursuit of redemption, even though that might not be possible in the foreseeable future.
