Soap Opera Christmas Schedule: EastEnders, Corrie, Emmerdale, HollyoaksFor EastEnders, Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks, it’s all about the battle of the Christmas specials, and we’ve got the blockbuster details starting with when to watch!

Who will win the Christmas stakes this year? Each of the four fantastic British soaps have been providing tons of must-see soapy drama lately, so it’s anyone’s guess who will take the lead and sprint to the head of the pack in the viewer sweepstakes. There’s one thing certain: the fans are sure to win!

First up, that Grande Dame of Brit soaps, EastEnders, will air a full hour long episode on the big day itself. That’s right, on Christmas night fans will have a full 60 minutes of Walford drama to chew on. Look for the Albert Square regulars to be scheduled between the BBC One faves Call the Midwife and Mrs. Brown’s Boys.

Viewers won’t want to miss the look on Max Branning’s (Jake Wood) face when his world crumbles down around him!

ITV’s Coronation Street will also present an hour long epi on December 25, at 8pm. Do you think Carla Connor (Alison King) will steal the limelight with her big return?

Meanwhile the network’s other sudser, Emmerdale, will air earlier in the evening at 5:50pm.  It’s been heavily publicized that the epi will center on Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) while paying homage to classic films.

The only soap not to air on Christmas is the Channel 4 show Hollyoaks. Well that’s ok, it’s better to spread the wealth around, right?

Rather, fans can look forward to a little pre-Christmas Sturm und Drang on Thursday night, December 21. Hollyoaks will air its Christmas special at 7 pm that night, but they’ve also seen fit to throw in a little teaser prior to the big show.

Fans can look forward to a first-take screening of the epi on the previous night, December 21, at 7 pm. Look for bad guy DS Armstrong (Andrew Hayden-Smith) to return to town with a vengeance and an agenda!
