New reports say that the network wants to cancel the Weatherfield drama temporarily because of a schedule change.

Apparently, ITV has decided to change their schedule in order to air two different soccer matches. One is England’s highly anticipated game against Malta and the other is a match against Slovakia. The national team is currently attempting to qualify for the 2020 World Cup.

This means that viewers will miss out on Coronation Street on Friday, September 1 and Monday, September 4. The soccer games are expected to begin at 7:15pm and end about 10pm local time.
