Home and Away Star Johnny Ruffo Undergoes Emergency Surgery For Brain Tumor

According to reports, former Home and Away star and Australian X Factor singer Johnny Ruffo is recovering in the hospital after undergoing emergency surgery to remove a life-threatening brain tumor.

The 29-year-old actor updated his fans on his current condition on his Instagram account. He also told Fairfax Media, “On Sunday I went into hospital with a migraine. I had to have emergency surgery to have a brain tumor removed. I am on the mend and feeling positive. Keep me in your thoughts.”

He’s also been reaching out to his fan base for some much-needed support during this difficult time in his life.

“Some things in life really put things into perspective [sic],” Johnny captioned two images of his recovery from hospital. “Hoping for a positive result, keep me in your thoughts x.”

Johnny first rose to stardom after placing third on Australian’s version of The X Factor in 2011. He then went on to win the 12th season of Dancing with the Stars in 2012. But fans know him best as Chris Harrington on the hit Australian soap series Home and Away. He was on the show from 2013 to 2016.
