General Hospital News: GH 2017 Daytime Emmy Award Nominees – Who Got Snubbed?

General Hospital (GH) news reveals there have been some significant snubs for the final list of Daytime Emmy Award Nominees; mind you some of them may have not landed on the prestigious list because they simply didn’t submit any of the work into the competition.

Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) is a HUGE name missing from the list.  He played some incredible scenes in 2016, especially when his on-screen son, Morgan (Bryan Craig) was murdered in an internal family mob hit gone wrong.  Maurice played the mourning father, his vulnerability touched anyone watching it.

Roger Howarth (Franco Baldwin) is also not on the list but he played such an intricate role in the General Hospital serial killer storyline, where he was originally believed to be the culprit. He clearly fell in love with nurse and single mom of 3 boys, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst); and released his dark side when it was discovered the man who raped her, Tom Baker (Don Harvey) had been released.

Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) wasn’t added, but he played some very difficult scenes in 2016; emotionally he nailed it. When he was first on scene and learned about Morgan’s car explosion, then when he had to handcuff his own father, Sonny to the car to prevent him from looking for his dead son; those scenes are definitely award winning.

Hayley Erin (Kiki Jerome) deserves to be nominated; she had so many incredible performances in 2016, including her being shot, causing PTSD. Her guilt when Morgan died in the car explosion while she was planning to leave him; then when she helped Franco set up Tom Baker for his crimes. She had a tough year when it came to love, but had some outstanding moments.

Michelle Stafford (Nina Reeves) has always played the role of Nina from one extreme to the other. General Hospital fans remember how she went after Julian Jerome (William deVry) when she learned he was purposely trying to destroy Crimson. She stood her own against some pretty dangerous people, including Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), of course she initially thought he was Theo Hart.
