EastEnders Spoilers: Ben Mitchell’s Exit Looms, Fans And Cast Devastated

EastEnders Spoilers: Ben Mitchell's Exit Looms, Fans And Cast DevastatedEastEnders’ Ben Mitchell (Harry Reid) has been on our screens since 2014. He took over the role from Joshua Pascoe, who played Ben from 2010 to 2012. Ben has famously had many changes of face, as it is often goes with child actors in soaps. But Ben has had five actors play him in his short 21-year-old life and it seems that this may be the end of Ben Mitchell for good.

Many of us don’t want to see Ben leave the soap. Even though we’ve been promised an extremely dramatic story line. He is a lovable character despite being a Mitchell with anger issues and one of the only openly gay characters on the square. He is a popular member of the youth on the show. This opinion isn’t only shared by us either, some fans have started a petition to keep him on EastEnders.

Actress Gillian Taylforth (Kathy Beale) also has strong feelings about her on stage relative leaving the soap. She told a source that, “I was absolutely gutted when I found out he was going…. It’s very, very sad. He’s a lovely lad and a fantastic actor.”

Well we agree with you Gillian, it will indeed be very sad to see him go. It is rumoured that he will exit with Lorna Fitzgerald and Jaqueline Jossa (Abi and Lauren Branning), which will be a huge hit to the youthful side of the cast. It will leave barely anybody in their twenties on the show. The details of their exit are not yet known but with it coming up to Christmas it’s a safe bet there will be a large budget ending for the young Mitchell.

Let’s hope that Harry Reid will re visit the soap world after his four years on EastEnders. Or perhaps go on acting in other art forms.
