EastEnders Spoilers: Hannah Spearritt Joins Cast In Hot New Role

EastEnders Spoilers: Hannah Spearritt Joins Cast In Hot New RoleFormer S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt just joined EastEnders, making her the second popstar to invade the Square. Will she and Blue’s Lee Ryan (Woody Woodward) have a duet at the Queen Vic?

The vivacious blonde has been brought on to play Karen Taylor’s (Lorraine Stanley) sister Kandice. Newly released images show Karen, Kandice and teen Bernadette Taylor (Clair Norris) larking it up on set, and it appears Kandice’s visit will coincide with the holidays.

But will it be a happy or a contentious reunion for the Taylors?  Given her DNA, Karen’s little sister is sure to stir things up when she meets back up with her family.

So far details about the reason for Kandice’s appearance are being kept close to the vest, but execs divulge that it’s not for nothing that Karen hasn’t talked a lot about her sister since settling into Walford.

Is there a rift between them? Given Karen’s quarrelsome nature, it’s entirely possible!

Like Karen, Kandice is said to be quick to share her opinions, and no doubt she thinks she’s always right. Ah, so Karen has another little mini-me! Sounds like the Christmas egg nog won’t be the only thing that’s spiked for the Tay’s this yuletide!

Spearritt played zookeeper Abby Maitland in Primeval and Mercedes Christie in Casualty. The spirited actress is going gonzo for her upcoming role.

“I’m over the moon to be joining the show,” she said, “it’s such a huge part of British telly. I’m really looking forward to getting started and I can’t wait to see the Square in the flesh. Walford here I come.”

For five years S Club 7 enjoyed tremendous success in the UK after forming in 1998. They sold over 10 million albums worldwide and starred in the BBC television series, Miami 7.

News of Spearritt’s debut comes after this week’s announcement that Tamzin Outhwaite returns to the hit BBC One sudser as Mel Owen after being gone for 15 years.
