Coronation Street Spoilers: Bethany Relives Her Horror, Faces Nathan and Neil In Court - Will They Walk Free? The hysterical Bethany Platt is facing off in court this week on Coronation Street against her former abuser, Nathan Curtis. After a thorough courtroom grilling by his defence team, it looks like Nathan might walk free. Oh. Good. Godiva. The man is half-past insane – allowing him to walk the streets again and threaten Bethany would be an injustice.

Bethany Relives Her Nathan Horror

Several spoiler scenes show the poor Bethany having to relive her experiences with Nathan, including one where she was “coerced into having sex” with the corrupt cop, Neil Clifton. Bethany also recounts how Nathan burned her with a cigarette and how her family has to live in fear due to threats made by Neil.

According to the Radio Times, “The shock realisation came at the climax to a dramatic double bill that saw Nathan’s cohort Mel seek to stymie Bethany’s attempts to get to court, only to have a change of heart following the tragic suicide of 14-year-old Lara, one of the other girls in the sexual exploitation ring.”

Why is this show so damn dark?

We all want justice for Bethany, but viewers will have to wait until Wednesday to find out whether Nathan walks free. I predict that he will most probably be a free man, because, you know, Coronation Street happened.

According to the actor who plays Nathan, Christopher Harper, “I’m genuinely happy that [producer] Kate Oates and the team will continue to show the conflict and troubles that affect Bethany. All that will carry on. Having now met so many survivors, I’m really pleased that Bethany’s journey carries on. I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next.”

Bethany Not Out Of The Woods Yet

Allegedly, and this is just what we’ve heard, Bethany won’t be out of the woods no matter what the verdict is. There’s trouble brewing on the cobblestoned streets and Bethany is about to face off against her greatest adversary.

What do you think? Will Bethany, who has survived so much in her life, be forced to experience it all again? Or will the Coronation Street writers have it in them to spare the maudlin character from a very, very dark future? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
