10 Things We Are Loving About Days Of Our Lives Right Now!

10 Things We Are Loving About Days Of Our Lives Right Now!“Days of Our Lives” spoilers teased a lot of changes with new head writer Ron Carlivati. However, many were not sure he could fix the NBC soap. Even though some things still need some work, things have improved. Here are the 10 things we are loving about “DOOL” right now.

Stronger Women

Gone are the weak, frail, damsel-in-distress females of the daytime series. Carlivati has kept their personalities the same while giving them some edge, kick and pizazz. Abigail (Marci Miller) stands up for herself these days. As for Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus,) she confronted a corrupt commissioner while being held at gunpoint.

Unusual Pairings

“Days of Our Lives” spoilers tease that some characters will have a chance to interact when they previously had no scenes together. For example, Paul Narita (Christopher Sean) will confide in Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin.) Also, when Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) returns, she will have one scene with Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker.)

Referencing History

When a new writer comes on board, especially one not familiar with the soap, fans worry about things not making sense. However, Ron Carlivati has some help. So far, he has successfully made storylines make sense and referenced the past. Abby’s stuffed elephant was brought into a few scenes.

So was the complicated history between “Wilson” and “Paulson.”

Humor

Who doesn’t love some humor? People were concerned with the doppelganger storyline. So far, a few fans prefer Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) over Adrienne Kiriakis. Let’s face it: she’s freaking hilarious, especially her over-the-top outfits and trying to seduce Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston.)

“Days of Our Lives” spoilers also reveal that Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) has a bit of a funny bone.

Fast-Paced Scenes

Before, one episode would contain maybe two or three different scenes. They would drag on forever. These days, the scenes are going at a much quicker pace. We are seeing more of the core characters in each episode, rather than dividing and conquering the cast.

Not as Predictable

For the past few years, “Days of Our Lives” spoilers were highly predictable. That sometimes happens with soap scribes. Carlivati’s writing is so outrageous, though, that he is making this a bit more difficult. We love the challenge and constantly being surprised!

Outrageous Scenes

Throwing John Black (Drake Hogestyn,) Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and Andre in a psychiatric until was pretty out there. It could have gone very badly. However, Carlivati has managed to create riveting storylines, inserting humor (such as “rubber room romance”) and made it a success.

More Romance

I am not one for too much sudsy romance. I prefer lots of drama in my daytime TV. However, that doesn’t mean I, and other fans, don’t have favorite couples. Viewers wanted “Chabby” back together and Carlivati delivered. People were interested in seeing “Ericole” reunited and it looks like that is on the way. There are also the weekly reminders of what makes “Jarlena” such an iconic power couple.

Multi-Layered Characters

Everyone talks about how people are complex and complicated creatures. That is absolutely true. Heroes are not all saints and villains are always totally evil.

Even though a lot of people don’t like how Andre is showing humanity, he has turned into one of my favorite characters. I love that he can’t be easily figured out. I hate him and love him at the same time, which makes him even more interesting.

Returns, Returns, Returns

Everyone has favorite characters, but some of them left a long time ago. It is interesting that a lot of them are suddenly returning. In addition to Sami Brady, there is Will Horton (Chandler Massey,) James Read (Clyde Weston,) Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and more. It just adds an exciting layer to existing storylines and lays the foundation for new mysteries.
