‘The Young and the Restless’: Travis’ Alliance with Victor Makes Sense

'The Young and the Restless': Travis' Alliance with Victor Makes SenseTravis (Michael Roark) agreed to work for Victor (Eric Braeden) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Where this business relationship goes from here is questionable. But, at the moment, this alliance makes sense for both parties.

Having just moved to town and possessing a Wall Street background, Travis sports the type of background that makes him Newman material. Combine that with his link to Vickie (Amelia Heinle) and it was natural that the ‘Moustache’ would be extending an employment offer. Victor claims to like Travis, but surely wants to keep an eye on him as well. Most importantly, the savvy founder and CEO of Newman Enterprises thinks that the new guy in town could be an asset to his company’s bottom line.

Victor is down three people at Newman Enterprises. Adam bolted awhile ago, which was one of many times he departed, or was removed from, the family business. He then obtained a position with a Chicago firm that allowed him to work from home. That job went by the wayside due to his father’s long tentacles. Adam is believed to have died, so this fictional character won’t be able to return to the office until another actor is cast for this role.

Vickie (Amelia Heinle) temporarily sat in her father’s chair when he was otherwise occupied at Walworth for four months. She took her eye off the corporate ball due to her developing relationship with Travis during that time. Later, Vickie was unable to accept that her father returned and reclaimed his throne. Then, Jill (Jess Walton) offered her a shot at Brash and Sassy. She jumped at the chance to return to her business baby and gave Victor a verbal resignation.

Nick (Joshua Morrow) wisely created his own business, The Underground, awhile ago. He briefly returned to Newman earlier this year, while Victor was locked up, in order to help Victoria manage the workload. But, Nick had no intentions of wearing pinstripes forever. So, he left the corporate palace when Victor came back.

Whether Travis has a hidden agenda, or simply sees a good opportunity isn’t discernible at the moment. But, Victor believes that his daughter’s newest beau is honest. So, being in need of talent, he understandably hired someone who just happened to be available.
