'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Jack Abbott Becomes the Bad Guy - Can He Be Saved?Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) has often been portrayed as the white knight on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Victor (Eric Braeden) was almost always tagged as the ‘Black Knight’. Now, after learning about ‘Philly’, Jack has been transformed into the bad guy. How ironic, considering the situation. Yet, modernity rules the game in 2016.

Soot is still spewing from the chimney that spit Marco Anaselli (Peter Bergman) into Genoa City. All main character’s lives remain damaged a year after that Peruvian drug lord and his connection to the ‘Moustache’ was exposed. But, what happened in the meantime is incredible.

Victor was convicted, but only served four months in Walworth State Prison for his role in those heinous events. Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), who unknowingly was living with a lunatic, later strayed from her real husband, was just beginning to deal with the ramifications of that reveal. Then, she was unexpectedly hospitalized after taking a bad fall down the stairs of her Abbott home. As for Jack, he wisely chose the path of least resistance, but still was smacked in the face.

The vultures at GC Buzz are circling around Jack’s still-standing carcass. Using rumor and innuendo to publicly assault the character of a man who’s been an upstanding member of his Wisconsin community for many years, give, or take, a few now-forgotten crimes. Internet-driven social media perception helps to drive reality in 2016. So, Jack might not be able to prepare for what could lie ahead in coming days.

Believing, once again, that he’s taken control of his life, Jack appears headed toward a fall of his own. Phyllis who was hurt, in more ways than one, is no longer an ally. Victor, as always, will do what he can to deepen Jack’s pain. And, Billy (Jason Thompson), the supposedly loving brother, is the lout who helped to spurn the current scenario. How, not if, Jack survives the current storm remains a vexing plot point as fall winds begin blowing on Y&R.
