‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Dylan Shares Blame for Christian Chaos – Sharon Not Fully Responsible

'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Dylan Shares Blame for Christian Chaos – Sharon Not Fully ResponsibleYes, Dylan (Steve Burton) shares blame for the Christian (Jamie and Alister Tobias) chaos that’s being seen on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Of course, Sharon (Sharon Case) has driven this problem since she first confirmed that Sully (Jamie and Alister Tobias) never existed. However, her husband’s lack of gumption must be revisited in order for this story to be fully fleshed out.

Dylan survived a war and overcame Ian Ward (Ray Wise), but he allowed Sandy (Elizabeth Bogush) to keep him away from his wife for months while she was supposedly pregnant at Fairview? Come on! Keeping the acknowledgment of that weak plot point separate for the purposes of this piece, Dylan’s inaction therefore enabled Sharon to be victimized.

All who question that fully fair critique needn’t cite the document Sharon signed while drugged as a retort either. Any husband with guts wouldn’t have taken Sandy’s no for an answer. Yet he did and that directly allowed the Christian-to-Sully transformation to play out. Yes, Burton’s character offered a few references to his glaring error. But that was far from good enough and isn’t a central point of his rage now.

So, ‘Shylan’ comes home from Fairview with Sully and Dylan never realizes that Sharon’s body never changed after she gave birth? That’s ridiculous. In this instance the character can’t be blamed. Again, viewers know that they were asked to deeply suspend disbelief in order to further this stretched storyline. As an adult, Dylan surely would have recognized that Sharon never delivered a child. Savvy fans apply that burden to the writing staff, while also knowing that Dylan’s life has been badly damaged by Dr. Anderson’s actions as well.

Sully never existed. Nick (Joshua Morrow) now rightfully has Christian at the Tack House (until the issue of his paternity arises again in the future). ‘Shylan’ has been wrecked. And through all of this Sharon receives nearly all of the blame? That’s wrong.

Sharon enabled the Sully lie. But Sandy committed a premeditated crime. Dylan is the one who abandoned his spouse, which happened at the most critical time. If he’d been there Sandy likely wouldn’t have successfully realized her revenge against Nick through this scheme, or made Christian, Sage (Kelly Sullivan), Nick, possibly Adam (most recently played by Justin Hartley), Dylan and Sharon her victims.
