‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: No Happy Ending For Adam And Chelsea In Sight – The End Of ‘Chadam?’

'The Young And The Restless' Spoilers: No Happy Ending For Adam And Chelsea In Sight - The End Of 'Chadam?'This was too good to last, even for characters who appear on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) hoped-for reunion with her true love happened. But, she, Adam (Justin Hartley) and Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) were only together for a matter of hours before Dylan (Steve Burton) swooped in. Adam and Chadam won’t be living happily with their son in a foreign country. Reverse those first names, add the power couple moniker and yes, ‘Chadam’ was caught before escaping.

Victor (Eric Braeden) genuinely tried to help his most prodigal son. He arranged for Adam to be kidnapped en route to the state prison where he would serve a 10-year sentence for assaulting a prison guard. As Nick (Joshua Morrow) noted in the lead-up to the pivotal episode, Victor had money and the type of connections needed to orchestrate the elaborate scheme that nearly allowed Adam to go on the lam with his family. But, hard-working Genoa City police officers rightfully enforced justice before Wisconsin’s elite family rigged the system once again.

Fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ surely were wondering if Egan (and the Gadbois twins) were going to go off-script for awhile. Chelsea and Connor now appear likely to stay in the fictional town that’s home to Y&R’s characters. As for Hartley, his planned escape from CBS’ daytime sets was successful. He’s off to film Season 1 of NBC’s nighttime dramedy ‘This Is Us’ and therefore won’t be wearing Adam’s clothes for awhile.

Kudos to executive producer Mal Young and his team for creating an engaging storyline that swapped one inmate (Victor) for another (Adam). The interesting twist in this instance saw Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) manage to achieve justice for Delia (Sophie Pollono) in an unexpected manner. Hendrickson’s character also one-upped Victor, which isn’t standard on ‘The Young and the Restless’.

Chloe initially withheld Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) diary pages. That served to unjustly put Adam behind bars, where he later went berserk and attacked a prison guard. Adam created his own legal jeopardy, to which he opted to plead guilty. Victor’s attempts at subverting the justice system then failed. How Adam might be able to restore his life someday now becomes pure conjecture. As to whether Hartley eventually returns, or another actor assumes this role, remains to be seen.
