'The Young And The Restless' News: Will Shemar Moore Return To Daytime After Leaving 'Criminal Minds?'With Shemar Moore’s recent exit from ‘Criminal Minds’ as Derek Morgan, several viewers of the daytime community began speculating that this could mean a return to his former daytime home, ‘The Young And The Restless.’ However Soaps In Depth’s latest magazine is indicating that even if the actor chooses to return to daytime, it would not be on a long term basis.

It was just about a month ago that Moore ended his run as Derek on ‘Criminal Minds’ when the character left in pursuit of spending more time with his family rather than hunting down the bad guys. Numerous viewers of the primetime series were disgruntled, but on the other hand quite a number of daytime viewers were hoping this meant he would be back at Y&R anytime soon. Upon his exit from the primetime series, Moore posted several pictures and videos on his official Instagram page alerting fans, not to worry because they are “stuck with him.”

In the recent issues of the CBS Soaps In Depth magazine, they report that unfortunately for the fans of Malcolm Winters and Shemar Moore the possibility of a long term return for the former actor is highly unlikely. This being due to the fact that he is now focusing on the silver screen.

Moore played the role of Malcolm on ‘The Young and the Restless’ for several years. He first started back in 1994 and continued with an on and off run until 2005. He then made a return to the CBS soap opera for a brief stint in September, 2014 while his on screen brother Neil (Kristoff St. John) was blind.
