'The Young And The Restless' News: Steve Burton OUT At 'Y&R,' Exiting CBS Soap‘The Young and Restless’ spoilers reveal that Steve Burton (Dylan, YR) has announced that his run on the soap has come to an end. Steve Burton just joined the cast of Young and Restless three years ago, Steve Burton (Dylan McAvoy) has announced his decision to leave the top-rated CBS soap by posting a message to his fans on twitter.

According to his Twitter post, Burton stated “Hey everyone, with lots of reflection, I have decided to move on from @YandR_CBS at the end of my contract in December,” Burton shared on Twitter. “I’ve had an amazing time, but it feels right to move on to new adventures in my life. I can’t say enough about the AWESOME cast and crew. Much respect!”

Many fans of the longtime soap have responded to this announcement in shock and disappointment. Steve then posted another twitter message on October 6th thanking CBS Daytime and also thanking his fans for their support. Many fans replied by asking Burton if he was planning to return to General Hospital where he left the role as Jason Morgan the end of 2012.

One might ask, does GH have any plans to get Steve back on contract? Anything is possible. This would certainly be a dream come true for many Steve Burton fans.  Burton’s contract is up the end of December so you can expect to see Dylan remain in Genoa City at least until then. Once we receive further information on Burton’s departure, we will most certainly bring that to you.

      Sad to see you go. The character of Dylan has had so many significant storylines. PTSD, discovering birth parents were Nikki and Paul, becoming a cop, supporting Ben (Stitch). Recent storylines have not allowed Dylan to shine as he did in the past but that is the writers not Steve Burton, dragging on the baby stealing storyline has been dull. Best of luck in future endeavors!

      i hope they have him either dating as a new character to LIZ or CARLY…….
