‘The Young And The Restless’ News: Michael Muhney Shares Post Surgery Selfie, Health Update After Cancer Scare

'The Young And The Restless' News: Michael Muhney Shares Post Surgery Selfie, Health Update After Cancer ScareMichael Muhney’s (ex Adam Newman, The Young and the Restless) fans will glad to know that the actor is now the picture of health after recent surgery.

On September 28 Muhney had surgery to remove cancer cells from his face. Even though he was “facing” a serious situation, Muhney’s sense of humor was intact; he tweeted pictures of himself both before and after surgery!

Captioned, “Wear your sunscreen kids. #NoSkinCancer. Had surgery today. 10 stitches. Yikes,” the pics show Muhney with an exaggerated, scared pre-surgery face and a bandaged post-surgery face. The bandages wrap around his forehead and all the way from his chin to his scalp!

But in a tweet posted yesterday, Muhney shares that he’s come though his treatment with flying colors. “Stitches removed 5 mins ago! Feels good! Yay! #GoodAsNew #ReadyForMyCloseUp,” he captioned his stitch-free selfie. As anyone in the same situation would feel, Muhney looks healthy and pleased.

Muhney’s fans are super-loyal and they were quick to send him their support and love during his trying time. “So, so, so many kind tweets sent to me from you all. Every day. Constantly. So uplifting. So encouraging. Really just want to say thanks,” he replied to his supporters.

How many of Muhney’s fans would love to see him return to soapland? Too many to count! Since Justin Hartley departed the role of Adam Newman on Y&R, Muhney supporters have been very vocal in their campaign to have him reprise the role.

It’s hard to tell whether Muhney stands a chance to return to the soap, since it hasn’t been announced if the role will be recast. What do you think Y&R fans, would Muhney be a natural in the role, or would you rather see another actor play Adam?

Michael I know what it is like. Fair Irish skin leads to melanoma. So glad you found it early and are recovering. Sending prayers and healing thoughts your way!

Yes. We have both been blessed with skin that burns easily. Early detection and sunscreen every day are important.
