‘The Young And The Restless’ star Justin Hartley (Adam Newman) is set to begin filming his new NBC primetime drama ‘This Is Us’ very soon. Last winter he filmed the pilot episode in NYC, and the series was picked up by the network, so they are currently working on the full season.
There has been a huge elephant in the room since news broke that NBC has picked up ‘This Is Us.’ What does it mean for Justin Hartley’s character Adam Newman on ‘The Young And The Restless?’ Will he be leaving the CBS soap to star on the primetime drama full time? So far, Hartley and TPTB at CBS have been mum as to the future – which only causes more concern among ‘Y&R’ fans. Not only have they not announced Justin is leaving, but they also haven’t confirmed that he is staying.
According to this week’s edition of CBS Soaps In Depth, there is some good news for Justin Hartley fans. Apparently, ‘This Is Us’ received a tax credit from the state of California to film the new primetime drama in Cali, rather than in New York City where they filmed the pilot episode. Of course, ‘Y&R‘ is filmed in California as well, so that eans that technically there is a better chance of Justin being able to do both shows. When ‘This Is Us’ was based on the East Coast, the odds of Justin flying back and forth between that set and the CBS soap set were slim. But, now it will just be a drive across town.
So ‘Y&R’ fans, are you excited to see Justin Hartley starring in ‘This Is Us?’ Do you think that he will remain at ‘The Young And The Restless’ or is it only a matter of time before he announces his exit?
