The Walking Dead Season 7 Spoilers: Robert Kirkman Teases “Epic” Premiere, Plus Negan’s Backstory And The Kingdom

The Walking Dead Season 7 Spoilers: Robert Kirkman Teases "Epic" Premiere, Plus Negan's Backstory And The KingdomWhen show creator, Robert Kirkman was asked to describe what Season 7 of The Walking Dead (TWD) would be like, he was able to describe it in one word, “EPIC!”  Of course, he did not reveal who died on the Season Six finale, so if you were expecting that secret to be told, you must not have read how hard the crew and cast worked to keep it all hidden.

Robert Kirkman wants to point out that it is not who dies that is going to be the biggest issue, it’s going to be what happens to the survivors, and how this death will affect and change them.  He also explains that although the group has experienced death before, this one will be different.  For the past 6 seasons, the group has been able to build in knowledge, confidence and in their abilities to take care and protect each other.  Negan is a whole new ball game for them, the group didn’t expect to run into this kind of danger coming in human form.

Season 7 of The Walking Dead is going to focus on the survivors and their ever-changing and evolving world.  If there is one thing they have learned from Negan, is that they are not the strongest group out there, and they are not the only survivors who can defend themselves and protect what is theirs.  This is something new for the survivors.

There will be more survivors and groups introduced this upcoming season, meaning the group we have followed and loved now have choices on where to go, and whether they stick together or go their separate ways. The group will discover that there is a lot of civilization out there, far more than they realized.  Besides introducing fans and the survivors to “The Kingdom” this season, there is still “The Hilltop”, what is left of “Alexandria”, and there is “The Sanctuary”, and its survivors who call themselves the Saviors.

The Walking Dead’s season 7 is where fans will be introduced to King Ezekiel, his pet tiger named “Shiva” and his community known as “The Kingdom”.  We cannot help but wonder if the show will follow the comic book, or if it will change the story a bit.  According to the comic books, Ezekiel was at some point involved with Michonne (Danai Gurira); but because the series varies from the comics, it’s hard to say if this will come into play at any point in the show.

Now if they write that history into TWD television series, it could be one more thing that would cause Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) to think twice about helping Ezekiel.  Michonne is now with Rick, and they are a family with Rick’s children, Carl (Chandler Riggs) and Judy, will Rick do what is best to survive or will he be selfish and crude, causing him to have one more enemy to fight?  We know that Ezekiel hates Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), as much as Rick does, so he will want to join forces with Rick, and take Negan down together?

Kirkman also reveals that the interesting thing they will be doing this season is showing us more about Negan and what goes on in his life and around him.  As fans, are you looking forward to the show exploring new characters like Negan, or do you think you will be so upset over this death that all you want to see is Negan killed off as quickly as possible?

Whatever your thoughts may be, be sure to tune into AMC on Sunday, October 23rd at 9 p.m. ET to watch the Season Seven premiere of The Walking Dead, and be sure to share your thoughts and comments.  Check back often for updates, news, rumors and spoilers!
