‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal a new character hits Port Charles on Friday June 3 and it’s Hayden Barnes’ (Rebecca Budig) mom Naomi Dreyfus (Robin Riker). GH fans have been excited since the casting announcement – here’s what you need to know about both Riker and Naomi!
When GH was casting to fill the role of Hayden’s mom, they wanted a named actor, and they landed a great talent in Robin Riker. She played Beth Logan on ‘The Bold and The Beautiful’ and also did a turn on ‘Days of Our Lives’ back in 2000.
Robin Riker should look familiar when you see her on-screen this week since she’s had guest roles on most of the major primetime serials of the past two decades from Boston Legal to NCIS, The Closer, Bones, Justified, The Glades and more.

The stunning Riker looks far younger than she is – she’s 64 but could easily pass for mid-40s. The beauty is also classically trained in theater since her parents were both actors and she grew up backstage at theaters they owned and began performing at age 2.
She’s also an accomplished author and wrote a well-reviewed book on her career called “A Survivor’s Guide to Hollywood: How to Play the Game Without Losing Your Soul.” Riker revealed to Soap Opera Digest that one call was all it took to land her the role when her agent heard GH was casting.
Riker admits she hadn’t watched GH since the Luke and Laura heyday but began binge-watching when she got the part of Naomi. Plus, Riker had a friend on set – Matt Riedy, who plays Dr Mayes (one of the suspects in the upcoming GH serial killer) mystery – they made a TV movie together.
Riker also said she was immediately fond of Rebecca Budig who plays her on-screen kid. Riker told SOD that Budig is “gorgeous and smart and sweet.” She also said Finola Hughes, Kathleen Gati, and Nancy Lee Grahn were very welcoming.
When Riker starts as Naomi Dreyfus on Friday, she’ll show up at Wyndemere with big news for Hayden and Liz Webber [Rebecca Herbst]. GH rumors are swirling that she may be Liz’s biological mom and Liz may have been adopted by the woman she grew up believing to be her mother.
We’ll see, but the bottom line is, Naomi loves her daughter Hayden but will very likely stir up trouble when she hits town. We’re wondering if seeing Hayden on the Nurses Ball red carpet is what brought her mom to town, particularly if she also saw Liz in their matching gowns.
Riker taped several episodes but is taking a hiatus for summer vacation, so Naomi will hit town then leave for a while but will be back in the Fall. We can’t wait to see Hayden get some family in town, particularly since her hubby Nikolas Cassadine [Tyler Christopher] has gone missing.
