‘General Hospital’ News: 7 Reasons We Want More Of Scotty Baldwin (Kin Shriner) On GH

‘General Hospital’ (GH) showrunners have promised beefed up storylines for legacy characters Laura Spencer [Genie Francis], Tracy Quartermaine [Jane Elliot] and Anna Devane [Finola Hughes] – but what about Scotty Baldwin [Kin Shriner]?

We’d love to see more of Kin and his alter-ego Scotty – here’s seven reasons we want him to score some more screen time…

#1 Killer chemistry with Ava

Didn’t it seem like something was about to happen between Ava Jerome [Maura West] and Scotty? But then pesky Paul Hornsby [Richard Burgi] took the DA job and the mob moll. Ava and Scotty seem a much better pair since they’re both so snarky and Scotty could explore his dark side with Ava.

#2 Port Charles will soon need a new DA

GH spoilers tease that Paul is about to be caught red-handed as a dirty DA – likely by Anna – so that means he’ll be ousted from his power position. Sure, they could bring back Ric Lansing [Rick Hearst], but Scotty was a tougher DA – even if he could never convict nemesis Sonny Corinthos [Maurice Benard].

#3 Laura is back so…

This is the most promising tidbit – there are GH rumors floating that Laura will get an adventurous storyline in coming months and Scotty will be part of it! Will they renew their romance while out cavorting? Or will it be strictly friends between the two? Either way, it’s a killer combination.

#4 Bobbie needs a BF

There are a couple of age-appropriate ladies in Port Chuck that Scotty could romance – including former flame Bobbie Spencer [Jacklyn Zeman] and Tracy Q. Wouldn’t it be fun to Scotty in a love triangle with a couple of these feisty ladies? Bobbie will also be more present in coming months, so that could work.

#5 Legacy characters need love

Of course, showrunners need to introduce new life blood into GH, but legacy characters are anchors to keep long-time fans tuned in. With Luke Spencer [Anthony Geary] out, there’s a spot for a legacy male of that age. Plus Scotty has a rich history with so many in Port Charles that he can work into any storyline.

#6 Franco needs his dad

Franco [Roger Howarth] may be on an even keel now, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t need his father. GH rumors indicate that Franco’s screen time will tick up now that he’s working at GH. With Franco getting more air time, why not bring Scotty back to hang out with he and Nina Clay [Michelle Stafford]?

#7 Fans adore him

The most persuasive reason to give Kin Shriner a new storyline is that fans adore him. Kin is popular at fan events. He’s been a fan fave since the 80s, so why not bring him back now and perhaps lure back some fans who may have tuned out recently?
