‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Hot Summer Returns on the Way – Sonny, Clyde, Jack, Laura and More!

“Days of Our Lives” fans will soon have to take a little break from the action in Salem. NBC will be airing the Olympics this August and that means our beloved soap won’t show any new episodes for two weeks. However, we still have some good news! Jason47’s “Days” website is reporting that there are several returns on the way before and after the brief hiatus.

Of course, you’ve probably heard by now that Sonny (Freddie Smith) is headed back to town. He’ll be popping up later this month, so DOOL viewers will want to stay tuned. “Days of Our Lives” spoilers suggest that Sonny will spend some time catching up with friends and relatives once he makes his comeback. He’ll to have a thing or two to say about his mom’s engagement to Lucas (Bryan Dattilo).

Adrienne (Judi Evans) will stand by her decision to marry the new man in her life, but Sonny will wish she could’ve made it work with Justin (Wally Kurth). Who knows? There might be a glimmer of hope! DOOL spoilers say Lucas and Adrienne’s wedding will take place this fall, but it’s unclear if they’ll actually say “I do.”

You can also expect Sonny to reconnect with Paul (Christopher Sean) during his lengthy stay in Salem. Old feelings could resurface for these former flames. Later this summer, Jaime Lyn Bauer will reprise her role as Laura Horton for a short stint. Many “Days” watchers will be happy to see her.

We don’t know what will thrust Laura back into the drama, but it will undoubtedly be connected to her family. Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) could use support from her mom in light of everything she’s gone through. Jack (Matthew Ashford) will make another appearance this summer as well. He’ll likely offer guidance to a loved one when he or she needs it most.

In addition, James Read will return as Clyde at some point this season. Brandon Beemer (Shawn) posted a picture on set a while back and the monitor tipped us off to a Clyde sighting. It looks like Clyde may have to answer some questions in the slammer. Clyde seemed to be in prison garb in the pic.

A few “Days of Our Lives” rumors hint that Clyde may even be connected to Abigail’s (Kate Mansi) disappearance. Andre (Thaao Penghlis) is lying about Abigail’s “death,” but that doesn’t mean he’s necessarily the one who made sure she vanished. It should be interesting to see if Clyde fits in this plot. If he’s even partially responsible, there’s bound to be big trouble.

We’ll miss DOOL during the Olympics, but it sounds like some great storylines are coming up. There are even some unannounced returns in the works. Check back for updates all summer long!
