Screen Shot 2016-01-25 at 4.50.01 PM“Days of Our Lives” fans know there’s no character quite like Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker). She can be mischievous at times, but it’s only because she’s always searching for a little slice of happiness. Nicole’s heart often gets her into trouble, but that just makes her the perfect blend of sugar and spice. Glamour.com recently caught up with Arianne Zucker to find out more about her experience on “Days” and how she’s shaped her character.

Zucker has been on DOOL since 1998 and she still remembers how her nerves kicked in during her audition. “I was just so nervous because I wasn’t ready yet,” said Zucker. It seems the fact that Zucker even landed that audition was somewhat of a happy accident. While at a wedding, a junior agent happened to notice Zucker and asked if she was an actress. Zucker was taking pre-vet courses at Pierce College at the time, but she decided to try out for a couple of soaps at the agent’s suggestion.

Fortunately, Zucker stood out from the rest of the pack at her DOOL audition and she won the part. Jensen Ackles, who previously played Eric Brady, was Zucker’s first scene partner on “Days of Our Lives.” Zucker was asked if she had a crush on Ackles and she replied, “Yes, of course I did.” Zucker also admitted that it’s pretty fun to make out with all those soapy hunks. Gotta love her honesty!

In response to a question about the similarities between Zucker and her character, she said there’s definitely some overlap. “I think now that time has gone on, I have infused Ari’s personality with Nicole’s,” Zucker noted. She then added, “I love Nicole. I always feel bad for her, and I’m in love with her.”

As far as storylines go, Zucker mentioned that she loved when Nicole was married to Victor (John Aniston). “I absolutely love working with John Aniston,” Zucker said. “His delivery is amazing. He’s just a wonderful man. I really enjoyed that part, and again, how much I learned from him.”

Bottom line, Zucker is thrilled to bring a character like Nicole to life. “I love my job so much, so it’s great to get those new stories,” Zucker gushed.
