‘General Hospital’ (GH) Spoilers Wed September 16: Scotty Defends Ava, Nathan Confronts Valerie, Sonny Survives – Suffers After Effects

The Jeromes have to answer some tough questions on Wednesday’s GH. Here are some ‘General Hospital’ spoilers to get you ready for the September 16 episode.

No one in Port Charles seems to believe that Julian Jerome [William deVry] has clean hands in the mob war that’s brewing. Suffice it to say, Julian’s not completely without sin in this matter, but he’s more of a facilitator and instigator than a perpetrator with the recent mob violence. Looks like Julian gave over Jerome territory and employees, likely in a buy-out arrangement when he left the syndicate.

But Julian can’t talk about any of that cause snitches get stitches. All he can do is continue to protect his innocence and that’s exactly what he does when his son Lucas Jones [Ryan Carnes] comes to talk to him at the PCPD. Julian is in a cell and Lucas leans on him to ask if he was involved in the shooting of Sonny Corinthos [Maurice Benard]. It’s true Julian was on the docks at a bad time, but he didn’t shoot Sonny.

Julian explains to his son that it was just coincidence – it wasn’t. Julian was likely down there meeting with the killer or the killer’s boss, but he was not the trigger man, nor did he Julian order the shooting. Julian professes innocence to Lucas. Look for Sam Morgan [Kelly Monaco] to also grill her dad about Sonny’s shooting. Will either of Julian’s kids believe Julian?

Looks like the Jeromes should get a family discount at the PCPD jail, since both Julian and Ava Jerome [Maura West] have cells there. Ava gets an unexpected visit today from former DA Scotty Baldwin [Kin Shriner]. Ava is shocked when Scotty asks to represent her in her murder trial. This is interesting. Scotty hates Sonny and Connie Falconeri was Sonny’s fiancée. What is Scotty up to?

Scotty tells Ava something that surprises her about the evidence against her. Did Scotty take it or destroy it to foul up Ric Lansing’s [Rick Hearst] case against Ava and humiliate him as DA so Ric will get fired and Scotty can get the job back? Ava’s trial will be starting soon and someone surprising shows up. Port Charles has the world’s fastest criminal justice system. Very impressive.

Dante Falconeri [Dominic Zamprogna] goes to Nathan West [Ryan Paevey] for some advice about his guilt over sleeping with Valerie Spencer [Brytni Sarpi]. When Dante and Nathan talk about the cheating and why Dante feels like he wants to come clean to his wife, Lulu Spencer [Emme Rylan] lurks nearby and hears them talking. But how much did Lulu hear?

Will Lulu hear about the cheating or just hear that Dante and Nathan are talking about Valerie? Concerned for his partner, Nathan takes the bold step of confronting Val, telling her he knows about the cheating and wants her to stay far away from Dante before she ruins his life. Too late. Lulu overheard them talking and Valerie is pregnant. Valerie ponders her feelings for Dante.

Also, Sonny comes out of surgery today. Patrick Drake [Jason Thompson] emerges from the exhausting surgery and assures them that Sonny survived the surgery but is still in a critical state and could die at any moment. Plus he’ll likely suffer some ill-effects as a result of the life-saving operation. The Corinthos family is relieved but then worried all over again about what’s coming next.
