'General Hospital' News: GH Alum Jaime Ray Newman Lands Role On Bates Motel“General Hospital” alum Jaime Ray Newman lands a major reoccurring role on the hit A&E show, “Bates Motel,” according to Soap Opera Digest. Jaime is best known as her character of Kristina Cassadine on the ABC soap opera. She has kept herself busy since leaving “GH” as she just wrapped up a pilot series on Bravo called “True Fiction.”

Newman will portray a character named Rebecca Hamilton, who is an old flame of Alex Romero [Nester Carbonell]. Apparently, her character is still very much in love with Alex, and could present to be a problem for Norma Bates [Vera Farmiga]. Rebecca will likely take up much of his time, and Norma could feel jealous about their connection. Jaime Ray Newman will share scenes with Nester Carbonell, Vera Farmiga, and the talented Freddie Highmore.

Jaime Ray Newman previous television experience includes “General Hospital” from 2002-2003. She has regular roles in the series: “Wicked City,” “Mind Games,” and “Red Widow.” Her reoccurring roles are “Bosch,” “Franklin & Bash,” “Drop Dead Diva,” “Lincoln Heights,” “Nip/Tuck,” “Eastwick,” and “Grimm.”

“Bates Motel” is a “Psycho” prequel centering around the life of young Norman Bates and his relationship with his emotionally damaged mother, Norma Bates.

“Bates Motel” has not announced when season four will premiere; however, it is widely speculated that it will be sometime in March 2016. A&E revealed last year that the show was renewed through season six.

According to A&E’s website, “Bates Motel serves as a contemporary prequel to the genre-defining film Psycho and provides viewers with an intimate portrayal of how Norman Bates unravels throughout his teenage and young adult years.”
