'General Hospital' Bio: Robert "Franco" Frank's History Explained, From Deranged Sociopath to Goofy Good Guy

Robert “Franco” Frank was born in September 1981 under the Virgo star sign and is dramatic and moody. His birth year has also been listed as 1974. Son of attorney Scott Baldwin and lunatic Heather Webber, Franco was adopted as an infant by Karen Anderson and didn’t learn of his paternity until very recently when Heather broke the news to an art gallery full of shocked onlookers. Franco is a reformed sociopath and serial killer who now works as an art therapist.

The role was originated by James Franco and was later taken over by Roger Howarth. As a New York City teen, Franco was a street artist who frequently tagged buildings. He took the fall for his friend Ronnie Dimestico’s liquor store robbery and was sent to jail. While in prison, Franco met many murderers and became fascinated with killing. Once released, he killed a man then tagged the crime scene with the phrase C077X which was his arrest file number for the robbery he didn’t commit.

Franco went on to gain international recognition for recreating murder scenes in photographs. He was later invited to Port Charles by Crimson Magazine to be featured on the front page and in a photo spread. He used his C077X tag in Port Charles as well. Franco often dressed as a vagrant to lurk in the streets and observe criminals at work. He became obsessed with hit man Jason Morgan after he saw Jason shoot mobster Joey Limbo.

Franco engaged in a wide array of crimes to attract Jason’s attention including kidnapped Sam Morgan, Carly Corinthos and Lulu Spencer, planting bombs and having Michael Corinthos III attacked in jail. Later, after a crime-filled performance art exhibit, Franco faked his death. He came back from the dead to torment Sam and Jason on their honeymoon. Later, he wanted to repent and make up for his crimes when he discovered (falsely) that he was Jason’s fraternal twin.

He came back to Port Charles intending on taking on a role at ELQ and search for the long-lost daughter with Ava Jerome. It turned out that Kiki was not Franco’s child which proved devastating to both of them. Franco suffered mental issues and believed for awhile that he was Jason then was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The tumor was blamed for all of his sociopathic behavior and attorney Diane Miller was able to get him exonerated for his past crimes.

After Franco was rehabilitated, he tried to be better but circumstances conspired against him. He began a relationship with Carly Corinthos after he saved her son Michael’s life but then turned on her when she began cheating on him with her ex-husband Sonny Corinthos. He later exposed to Michael and the world that Sonny killed AJ, putting an end to his relationship with Carly for good.

Franco’s efforts to be better were further derailed when he helped his art therapy student and lunatic Nina Clay after she kidnapped the infant daughter of Ava Jerome and Sonny Corinthos. This left him in Pentonville behind bars and Nina back in Shadybrook asylum. He broke out of jail with his nemesis Sonny, Julian Jerome and Ava Jerome so that he could save Nina from his mother, Heather. He sacrificed himself by injecting a vial of LSD so he could stay in Shadybrook with Nina. Currently, he is recovering from the near-overdose in Shadybrook with Nina by his side.
