'Days Of Our Lives' News: Head Writer Dena Higley Out At NBC Soap Opera – Cites Personal Reasons For Exit

“Days Of Our Lives” spoilers tease that there will be a change of regime at the NBC soap opera, co-head writer Dena Higley is reportedly out at the daytime drama. According to an all new report from Daytime Confidential, Higley unexpected took a leave of absence citing “personal reasons” and it is unclear it or when she will return to DOOL. That means as of right now her writing partner Josh Griffith is on his own, and TPTB at “Days of Our Lives” are most likely shopping around for a replacement.

Dena Higley and Josh Griffith just joined “Days of Our Lives” not that long ago, amidst the soap’s sinking ratings NBC brought them on to replace Gary Tomlinson and Chris Whitesell just in time to write the 50th anniversary storylines. Higley and Griffith currently are working on some big storylines on the NBC soap opera, and were taking some characters in exciting new directions. There is no telling how this unexpected change in regime (again) at “Days of Our Lives” will effect current plots.

Already the soap opera rumor mill is in full force, and word on the internet is that recently fired GH head writer Ron Carlivati could be in talks with DOOL. Another popular rumor is that DOOL might just borrow a member of “The Young and the Restless” soap opera on CBS seeing as how they are both members of SONY. So far there is no news yet on how long Dena Higley will even be gone, it could be forever or it could be just a few weeks.

How do you think Higley’s exit will effect “Days of Our Lives?”
